Sam Amon scored two power play goals to lead the EEW to a 5-1 win over Black Horse in National division action played at the Skate Zone on Monday night. Dominic Fonte opened the scoring for the EEW at the nine minute mark of the first period, getting his second of the year with Amon getting the assist. Less than three minutes later Rory Ohara would get his first goal of the year to give EEW a 2-0 lead after one. Amon would make it 3-0 at the five minute mark of the second with Black Horse down a man Amon connected with Jason Fisch getting the helper.
Black Horse would score a power play goal of their own with just under six minutes left in the period to cut the lead to 3-1.Goals by Alex Deitch and Amon on the power play put the game away midway through the final period. With the win the EEW remains two points behind Mainland for the top spot in the division.
