Colin Blackley scored three goals and Ryan Hill added two as Lower Cape May breezed by Kingsway 7-1 in the playoff opener for both teams. Jared Sweeten stopped 18 shots and lost his shutout bid in the final three minutes of the game. Justin Tomlin and Hill scored goals in the opening period to give Lower Cape a 2-0 lead. Blackley scored his first of the game just twenty four seconds into the second period for a 3-0 lead. Pete Tomlin and Blackley scored goals forty one seconds apart to make it 5-0 after two periods.
Hill scored his second goal of the night just fourteen seconds into the final period and the lead was 6-0. Blackley completed his hat trick, scoring on the power play just three minutes played into the period. Kingsway failed to capitalize on five power play opportunities and finally scored in the game’s final three minutes with Hunter Cramer getting the goal.
