Christopher Kilcourse scored at the two minute mark of the first overtime as Black Horse defeated HLV 5-4 in the playoff opener for both teams. Black Horse trailed most of the third period until Scott Veneziale scored with twenty seconds left in regulation to send the game into overtime. Brandon Graham led the offense with two goals and Sam Belanger netted two for HLV.
Graham and Ronald Randall exchanged goals in the first period three minutes apart as we were tied 1-1 after one. After Graham scored an unassisted goal just two minutes in, HLV would score the next two goals in a span of two minutes. First Noah Williams would connect on the power play to tie the game at 2-2. Then Belanger would give HLV a 3-2 lead with Alex Warner getting the helper. Zachary Faust would tie the game early in the third period for Black Horse but thirty seconds later Belangers’ second of the night gave HLV a 4-3 lead. We would stay that way until Veneziale would score with just twenty seconds left. That set the stage for Kilcourse who would net the game winner and be mobbed by his teammates.
