Mike Hughes stopped 24 shots and Clearview got balanced scoring in defeating Washington Township 4-2 and advancing to the finals in the double elimination tournament in the American division. Robert Penrod continued his hot scoring in the playoffs as he gave Clearview a 1-0 lead with seven minutes played in the opening period. Penrod has three goals during the playoffs, equaling his season total. Jarrett Wharton tied the game at 1-1 in the final twenty seconds of the period and despite outshooting Township the game was tied at 1-1.
Cole Dyar scored the lone goal of the second period to put Clearview ahead 2-1 and with Hughes frustrating the Township offense; Clearview took the lead into the third period. Matt Kammerer struck in the opening minute for Township to tie the game at 2-2. James Summers would respond less than one minute later to give the View the lead for good at 3-2. Ninety seconds later Nick Ramos made it 4-2 and the View could now check the game away. Hughes continued his strong play as Township had two power play opportunities but failed to capitalize. Moorestown and Township will now meet on Friday with the winner advancing to the finals against Clearview.
