Ryan McMahon stopped all 25 shots and Tyler Juzwiak and Nathan Harring scored two goals each as Mainland pulled away from EEW 7-0 to win the National division Championship in a strong performance at the Skate Zone on Monday evening. Juzwiak scored both goals of the first period, one in the opening thirty seconds and one in the final two minutes. Both teams were a little chippy and combined for 12 penalties. EEW had four power play opportunities and failed to capitalize. Goals by Harring and Frank Christy in the second period doubled the lead to 4-0 after two.

Matt Cozzan made it 5-0 in the first five minutes of the third period and all that was in doubt was if the shutout would be preserved. EEW would have some chances late as they had a two-man advantage, but once again McMahon stood tall and showed why he was the Glean Holland award winner for best goalie. Goals by Mackenzie Restle and Harring late in the game closed out the scoring. Congratulations to Coach McGrath, his staff and the entire team on their championship.
