Maxim Kuznetsov scored two goals as the Eastern Vikings defeated Lower Cape May 3-1 and is now tied with Kingsway for first place in Tier1 B division. Kuznetsov and Braden Hawcroft scored first period goals to put the Vikings up 2-0 after one. The second period Eastern spent most of the period killing penalties as they had to kill six penalties, on one of the later penalties the Vikings would score a short-handed goal as Kuznetsov would connect and the lead was 3-0 after two periods. Colin Donahue would score a power play goal early in the third period for Lower Cape, but that was as close as they would get. Eastern and Kingsway will meet this Friday at Hollydell in an early season match-up of the top two teams in the B division.
