Jeremy Ambrose scored two goals, including the game clincher in the final twenty four seconds as Cherokee defeated Clearview 3-1 and clinched the top spot in Tier 1A division and earned a first round bye in the playoffs which begin Monday. Just a freshman, Ambrose led the team in goals with 14, and the future looks bright for the Chiefs as they have a very young squad. Ambrose scored his first goal of the night with three minutes left in the first period. Clearview would tie the game on a two-man advantage as Anthony Dellerose would score his team high 13th of the year. Dellerose leads the team in points as well, and was the fifth selection in the live draft for the Showcase game next Wednesday.

With the game tied at 1-1, Anthony Salvatore, the senior captain, would lift a backhander in the opening three minutes of the third period to give the Chiefs the lead. Strong defense and solid goaltending from Matt Bidini would neutralize the Clearview offense. Dellerose had a breakaway midway through the period, but a great hustle play by Hunter Ray, kept Dellerose from getting off a shot, although penalized; the Chiefs were able to kill the penalty to keep it 2-1. In the final minute Clearview would pull the goalie, but Ambrose, on a feed from Sam Libetti and Salvatore would ice the game.

Notes: Although Moorestown and Cherokee finished in a tie with points, Cherokee is awarded the top spot by virtue of head to head battles, winning all 3 games.
