Nicholas Imperial and Gage Grist each had a hat trick as Mainland defeated Middle Township 9-2 at Voorhees Skate Zone on Monday night. The game was even at 1-1 after one period with Grist connecting on the power play and Jake Simone getting the Middle Township goal. Mainland would score five goals in the second period to take command of the game, two coming while they were short-handed. After Nolan Harring made it 2-1 in the opening moments of the second period, Imperial would score twice in a span of four minutes to make it 4-1 at the six minute mark.
Then down a man Mainland would get goals from Grist and Ralph Triboletti eight seconds apart to take a commanding 6-1 lead after two periods. Paul Stryker would get Middle Township’s second goal with just under four minutes remaining. Mainland would close with goals by Grist, Imperial and Jonathan Wilson to close out the scoring.
