Senior night at Hollydell produced a large crowd for Clearview as they rallied from a 4-2 deficit to beat Williamstown 7-5 on Friday night. Anthony Dellerose and Matt Manzo led the offense scoring two goals each, Drew Murtha and Justin Fortuna scored twice for Williamstown. Joey Freda gave the View a 1-0 lead early in the first period, but Murtha would get the equalizer at the nine minute mark. Manzo would give the View a 2-1 lead with just over three minutes left as Hunter Tamburro won the draw right back to Manzo. Just over two minutes later Fortuna would get the first of his two on the night as Steve Poulin intercepted a clearing pass and found Fortuna down low for a tap-in goal and we were tied at 2-2 after one.

Jesse Cave would score a power play goal for Williamstown four minutes into the second period and three minutes later Murtha connected on the power play and Williamstown led 4-2. Mike DeFelice would get his second goal of the season as he scored from the slot with five minutes left in the second to make it 4-3. Dellerose would tie the game at the three minute mark with a shot under the crossbar, this one coming on the power play. Chase Dyar would give the View the lead for good also on the power play with just over one minute left in the second. However Ross Higgins stoned Fortuna on a breakaway right before Dyar tied it, that save and subsequent goal gave the View momentum heading into the final period. Manzo would give them a cushion scoring four minutes into the third and a 6-4 advantage. Fortuna cut it to 6-5 midway through the period, but a power play goal by Dellerose sealed the game.

Notes: Clearview graduates more than half the team, and despite 2 cracked ribs Dellerose wanted to skate in his final regular season game, although there was talk about limiting his shifts, he seemed to be out there regularly, I’m sure he is sore today.
