Ryan Lasalvia and Patrick Hoffman each scored two goals as HLV defeated Shawnee 7-2 and have gone through the tournament undefeated at 3-0 and will now await the winner from the losers’ bracket. Having just won 6 games all season HLV has caught fire at the right time. Averaging less than three goals during the regular season, HLV is averaging five goals in their three wins and during the regular season they would give up an average of five goals per game but in the playoffs in three games have surrendered a total of just five goals. Matt Saavas got things going for HLV scoring at the seven minute mark to put them up 1-0. Ryley Bergeson would tie the game at 1-1 for Shawnee scoring on the power play just over two minutes later.

Mike Moss broke a 2-2 game with ten minutes left in the game as Team Simmonds edged Team Giroux 3-2 in last night’s Junior/Senior Showcase game at the Skate Zone in Voorhees. Having participated in the last few drafts Coach McKay has never won in this format, and while he wouldn’t admit that it bothered him, I got to believe that the success he has enjoyed over the last 8 years, not winning this game was probably bothering him to a degree. Trailing 2-0 on goals by Kevin Troy of St Joe’s and Zachary Faust of Black Horse, Team Simmonds would get a late goal in the period as Cody Charyk from Shawnee would score with Moss and Vinny Salerno getting the assists.

Griffin Conroy stopped all 25 shots and the Quakes scored 4 power play goals as Moorestown defeated Shawnee 4-0 in the late game at the Skate Zone in Voorhees on Monday night. It seemed like every time Shawnee committed a penalty, Moorestown would capitalize. Early in the first period Charlie Banquier would connect on the power play for the Quakes, scoring his third goal of the season and a 1-0 lead. That was all Conroy would need as it turned out, but in the second period, one with 11 penalties called, Moorestown would have a golden opportunity once again early in the period, this time a two-man advantage but could not capitalize. But midway through the period Brandon Eberly would score the second power play goal of the game and the lead was 2-0.

Anthony Dellerose and Robert Penrod scored two goals each and Ramos had three assists. Penrod scored the only goal of the first period with a blast just over the blue line and he scored his second of the night at the almost exact time in the second period for a 2-0 lead.
