Anthony Carite scored his team high 12th goal of the season with just thirty seven seconds left in the game as St Joe’s upset first place Cherry Hill East 2-1 in game action played at Hollydell. The game had all the intensity of a playoff elimination game as both teams played defense first. St. Joe’s had the better opportunities with four straight power plays over two periods, including a 2 man advantage for sixty two seconds but failed to capitalize. Both goalies were outstanding with Michael Neal stopping 30 shots for St. Joe’s and Luke Martini stopping 25.

East took a 1-0 lead late in the first period with David Cutler going top shelf for his 11th on the season. After a scoreless second period, one in which Marini robbed Nick Jervas down low from point blank range and St. Joe’s squandered power play chances, Kevin Glass would deflect a shot from the point and into the long side and we were tied at 1-1 with eight minutes left in the game. Both teams had chances but Carite would bang home a rebound down low, to give St. Joe’s the win.
