David Cutler scored three goals and Nicholas Carr added two as Cherry Hill East scored four goals in the first period as they defeated Mainland 6-3 in Tier II action in Voorhees on Monday evening. Cutler scored right after the opening face-off for a 1-0 lead. Just over one minute later Carr would get his first of the night and less than two minutes in East led 2-0. Cutler would make it 3-0 at the four minute mark and three minutes later Carr had his second and East led 4-0. 

Cutler completed his hat trick early in the second period as the lead grew to 5-0. Mainland would climb back in the game getting goals from Gage Grist and Anthony Santa Maria to close the gap to 5-2 after two. Grist’s second goal of the night had Mainland to within 5-3 early in the third period, but a power play goal by Tom Papa ended any hope of a comeback.
