Dominic Garozzo scored six goals and AJ Matlack added two as Washington Township defeated Shawnee 11-8 in a shootout at Pennsauken Skate Zone in the first round of the Flyers Cup. CJ Castorina added four assists for the Minutemen as they will now play Salesianum in the next round. The teams combined for 10 goals in the first period, with Township missing starting goalie Kyle Rink. Ryan Feast and Ian Plummer led Shawnee with two goals each.

Township would take control with a five goal second period and took a 10-6 lead into the third period as offensively they would launch a season high 50 shots. Two late goals in the third period by Shawnee would make it 10-8 but Garozzo added an empty netter to close out the scoring.
