St Joe’s built a 6-2 lead after two periods and held on for a 6-4 win over Mainland as Chris Corsaro scored two goals. Anthony Santa Maria led Mainland with a hat trick. Santa Maria opened the scoring four minutes into the game as Mainland took a 1-0 lead. St Joe’s would get goals from Corsaro and Cooper Root thirty nine seconds apart to take a 2-1 lead at the nine minute mark. Mainland would tie the game at 2-2 less than one minute later on a goal by Derek Michael, but Ryan Laserre scored late in the period to give St Joe’s a 3-2 advantage after one period.

St Joe’s would take control of the game with a three goal second period all coming on the power play. First Kevin Glass would connect less than three minutes in and just eighteen seconds later Corsaro would connect for his second of the night and the lead was 5-2. With the period winding down Deaglan Kelly would score the third power play of the period and a 6-2 lead after two. Interestingly enough those 3 penalties were the only penalties called against Mainland and St Joe’s capitalized. Mainland was 0-2 on the man advantage.

Santa Maria would get his second of the night five minutes into the third period to bring Mainland to within 6-3. Michael Neal in nets for St Joe’s withstood some shots down low, and Santa Maria would complete his hat trick with just over one minute left in the game to close out the scoring.
