Conor Riley had a goal and three assists and Max Kuznetsov added two goals and three assists as Eastern defeated Egg Harbor Township 9-1 in action played at the Skate Zone in Voorhees. The Vikings broke open the game with a five goal third period. Leading 3-0 after the first period on goals by Ron Fireman, Luke Rile and Jacob Findley, the Vikings would get just one in the second period as Conor scored his team high 16th goal of the year and a 4-0 lead after two periods.

Corey Owens and Nicky Bellapigna each scored two goals as Kingsway defeated Williamstown 6-1 in Tier I action played at Voorhees. The Dragons jumped out to an early 1-0 lead on a goal by Brian Barnett just two minutes into the game. It was the 5th goal of the season for the young sophomore. Midway through the period Owens would get his first of the night and the lead was 2-0. The Braves would manage just two shots in the opening period, with Kingsway launching ten. Early in the second period Bellapigna would get his first of the night and Kingsway led 3-0.

Washington Township had their senior night at Hollydell this past Friday and in front of a good crowd the seniors delivered an 8-1 win. Six of the eight goals were scored by seniors with Andrew McGinley leading the way with a hat trick. Senior defenseman Matt Kennedy added four assists. That was the good part of the game; the ugly part was the teams combined for 31 penalties, with Williamstown being called for 21, including a match penalty. Township would capitalize on the man advantage, scoring five power play goals.

Jack Ellis and Sam Berger each scored two goals and Jeremy Ambrose added four assists as Cherokee defeated Kingsway 7-3 at Hollydell on Friday night. Coupled with the Vikings loss to Moorestown the Chiefs now have a four point lead in the division. Ellis, elevated to the first line with the Chiefs missing some top players, performed well, scoring the first two goals of the game on feeds from Ambrose, with the goals coming in the first five minutes. Offensively the Chiefs out-shot Kingsway 48-13.

Brendan Forrest scored twice and Cherokee built a 3-0 lead and held off a charging Township team for a 4-3 win at Hollydell right before the Christmas break. After a scoreless first period, Forrest would connect in the opening minute of the second period as the freshman forward would get his third of the season. Sam Berger would make it 2-0 eight minutes later and Forrest would connect for his second of the night just thirty seven seconds later and the lead was 3-0. Township would capitalize on the power play in the final two minutes as Chad Castorina scored to cut the lead to 3-1.

Clearview scored three goals in the opening period and went on to defeat Cherry Hill East 4-2 in Tier II action played at Hollydell on Friday night. After East took a 1-0 lead on a power play goal by Joe Pearson, the View would tie the game thirty-four seconds later on a goal by Chase Dyar-his first of two on the night. Fifty-two seconds later Brendan Bainbridge would give the View the lead for good as the defenseman tallied his third of the year. Late in the period East would have back-to-back power play opportunities, not only failed to capitalize but would surrender a short-handed goal to Chris Geary and the View took a 3-1 lead into the second period.

Luke Dobbs and Zachary Marzo each scored two goals and Griffin Conroy stopped all 12 shots as Moorestown handled Kingsway 6-0 in late game action at Hollydell. A four goal opening period gave Moorestown control and the Quakes never looked back. Less than three minutes in, Zach Envoy would give the Quakes a 1-0 lead scoring his third goal of the season. Marzo would get the next two scoring an even strength goal at the four minute mark and then connecting on the power play just over one minute later. Dobbs would make it 4-0 thirty one seconds later and Moorestown was in control.

John Francis and Jacob Woody each scored two goals as Kingsway defeated Shawnee 7-4 in late game action played at Hollydell. Anthony Poppalardo led Shawnee scoring three goals. The Dragons have started slow in the first period most of the season, but tonight the offense got going with a four goal outburst. After Poppalardo gave Shawnee a 1-0 lead just fifty one seconds into the game, Kingsway came right back twenty five seconds later with Brian Barnett getting the goal. Poppalardo responded right off the center ice face-off and Shawnee led 2-1. But the Dragons would score three goals over the next six minutes.

With St Joe’s and Clearview locked in a 2-2 game with five minutes left the View would respond with three goals and went on to defeat St Joe’s 5-2 in Tier II action at Hollydell. Chase Dyar led the offense with two goals. The View built a 2-0 lead after one period on goals by Steven Lento on the power play midway through the period. And Dyar would score in the last one of the period. St Joe’s would get one back in the second period as Ryan Lasserre would connect for his fifth of the season and after two periods the View led 2-1.

Luke Martini stopped all 33 shots as Cherry Hill East defeated Clearview 3-0 in Tier II action in Voorhees. After a scoreless first period Joe Pearson scored the only goal Martini would need, this one coming on the power play, his first of two on the night midway through the period and East led 1-0. Martini was very busy in the period as The View launched 17 shots and had some golden opportunities with back to back power plays but could not solve Martini.
