Ryan O’Connell and Elias Sulpizio each scored twice as Moorestown defeated Egg Harbor Township 9-2. The Quakes used a four goal second period to blow open the game. O’Connell and Luke Dobbs scored goals two minutes apart late in the opening period as Moorestown led 2-0 after one. The Quakes would score three times in a span of four minutes with Zach Marzo and Anthony De Francisco getting the goals and Mike O’Connell would score short-handed and the lead was 5-0.

Coming off their first loss of the season on Friday night to Shawnee, Cherokee bounce back with a 5-3 victory over the Eastern Vikings on Monday night at Voorhees. Jake Frankenfield led the offense with two goals. Conor Riley gave the Vikings a 1-0 lead at the eight minute mark of the first period. Just over one minute later Frankenfield would get the tying goal on a feed from Darren Ambrose. Early in the second period Cherokee would take a 2-1 lead on Patrick Dugan’s first goal of the season. Five minutes later Dustin Patterson would connect for his second goal of the season and the Chiefs took a 3-1 lead into the third period.

Jacob Woody scored with five minutes left in the game as Kingsway defeated Shawnee 3-2 in late game action at the Skate Zone on Monday evening. The win was the first of the season for the Dragons. The first period was a seesaw affair as Shawnee would take a 1-0 lead on a goal by Tom Caputo, then Kingsway would respond one minute later as John Francis would get the equalizer. With just over three minutes left in the period Anthony Poppalardo would put Shawnee ahead scoring his ninth of the season and the Renegades led 2-1. Nicky Bellapigna would tie the game at 2-2 in the final thirty seconds and we would head into the second period all even.

Chase Dyar had a hat trick and Clearview scored six power play goals as they handled Riverfront 9-3 in Tier II action at Hollydell. The View jumped out to a 2-0 first period lead on a power play goal by Steve Lento in the opening ninety seconds and then four minutes later Brendan Bainbridge would get his second of the season. Riverfront would rally as Andrew Hehl would score a power play goal at the six minute mark and then less than three minutes later Hehl would tie the game at 2-2, again on the power play, the goals were the first for the senior forward.

Moorestown played strong defense in front of Griffin Conroy who stopped 20 shots as Moorestown defeated Washington Township 5-1 in late game Tier I action played at Hollydell. Township took a 1-0 lead on a rebound goal by Harrison Rauh at the ten minute mark of the first period. Jacob Selverian would tie the game at 1-1 with three minutes left in the period. Early in the second period Andrew Jordan would pick the perfect time to get his first goal of the season as his goal gave Moorestown a 2-1 lead and would go down as the eventual game winner.

Seven different players scored goals for Eastern as they defeated Williamstown 7-1 on Friday night at Hollydell. The Vikings struck first as Jordan Stein converted a pass from Conor Riley with Williamstown down a man and the lead was 1-0. Just about two minutes later Luke Riley would get his sixth of the year and the Vikings took a 2-0 lead into the second period. Midway through the period Conor Riley would put home a shot from the slot, again on the power play and the Vikings led 3-0.

Trailing 2-1 entering the third period St Joe’s took advantage on their power play opportunities, scoring twice with the man advantage and defeated Riverfront 3-2. The loss kept the Raiders winless on the season. Robert Diehm gave St Joe’s a 1-0 lead just three minutes into the contest scoring the only goal of the first period. St Joe’s outshot Riverfront 10-8, but failed on their one power play opportunity. Riverfront would score twice in the second period with the goals coming just ninety seconds apart.

Cherokee used a four goal second period to propel them to a 4-1 win against the Williamstown Braves in SJHSHL action played at Voorhees. After a scoreless first period in which the teams split eight penalties, the Chiefs took control in the second led by captain Jeremy Ambrose. With Williamstown on the power play from a carryover penalty late in the first, Ambrose scored short-handed at the thirty-three second mark to put the Chiefs ahead 1-0. Connor Ray would get his first of the season just about thirty seconds later and the lead was 2-0.

Constantine Roustas scored three goals in his second consecutive game as the Eastern Vikings defeated Washington Township 7-5 in a Tier I contest at the Skate Zone in Voorhees. Conor Riley added two goals and two assists; Chad Castorina led Township with two goals. Anthony Tropea and Castorina traded goals two minutes apart in the first period as we were knotted at 1-1 after one. Riley gave Eastern a 2-1 less than one minute into the second period with Sean Pomerantz getting the helper. Township would tie the game at 2-2 as Matt Kennedy would score a power play goal, one of three on the night for Township.

Jeremy Ambrose scored three goals and assisted on four others as Cherokee pulled past Washington Township 9-3 in Tier I action at Hollydell. Sam Libetti and Brendan Forrest added two goals each for the Chiefs. Andrew McGinley led Township scoring twice. The teams were tied at 2-2 after the first period, after Libetti scored a short-handed goal in the first three minutes, Township would score on the same power play advantage fourteen seconds later and we were knotted at 1-1. McGinley gave Township their only lead of the night at the seven minute mark, but Jake Frankenfield tied the game at 2-2 scoring a power play goal in the final minute of the period.
