Jake Kelley and Mike Andes each had a natural hat trick as Cherokee defeated Egg Harbor Township 7-0 last night in Voorhees. Jeremy Ambrose had a goal and five assists for the Chiefs. Kelley scored the first three goals of the game, all coming in the first three minutes as Cherokee took control early jumping out to a 3-0 lead. Ambrose assisted on two of the goals before scoring his goal late in the period as the Chiefs took a 4-0 lead into the second period. Andes would score the only two goals of the period, both coming in the first two minutes of the period and forty three seconds apart to push the lead to 6-0.

St. Joe’s scored four goals in the opening period and went on to defeat Riverfront 6-2 in Tier II action played at Hollydell. Cooper Root led the offense with two goals. Logan Rutt added a goal and three assists. Chris Corsaro gave St Joe’s a 1-0 lead just three minutes into the game. We stayed that way until the nine minute mark when Root and Rutt scored goals thirteen seconds apart to put St Joe’s up 3-0. Ryan Laserre would push the lead to 4-0 late in the period as St Joe’s seemed in control after one period.

Aaron Sphuler scored three goals and Eli Howey added two as Clearview had little trouble in defeating Riverfront 8-2 as they played the late game in Voorhees on Monday evening. The View wasted little time as they scored in the opening minute as Connor Reagan scored his second goal of the season. Brennen McCarty tied the game at 1- 1 for Riverfront midway through the period. The View would get late goals from Sphuler and Chase Dyar and take a 3-1 lead into the second period. Sphuler would connect on the power play at the ten minute mark to push the lead to 4-1. Howey would get his first of the night two minutes later and Sphuler would complete his hat trick in the final seconds for a 6-1 advantage heading into the third period.

Anthony Poppalardo scored a power play goal, his second of the night, with less than two minutes left in the game to snap a 2-2 game as Shawnee went on to defeat Williamstown 4-2 in Tier I action in Voorhees. Shawnee built a 2-0 lead in the first period on goals by Poppalardo and Dylan Di Grazio as the Renegades launched 15 shots in the period to just 4 for the Braves. Williamstown rallied in the second period getting goals from Enrique Espinosa and Steve Poulin one minute apart at the ten minute mark to tie the game at 2-2.

Nicholas Manning stopped all 21 shots and six different players scored goals as HLV defeated St Joe’s 6-0 at the Skate Zone in Voorhees. With the win HLV improved to 5-0 on the season. Five minutes into the game Brady Swain scored the only goal Manning would need to make it 1-0. Goals by Pierce Wickenden and Matt Savvas less than two minutes apart had HLV leading 3-0. Early in the second period Nick Avgousti converted a feed from Robert Pensabene to put HLV up 4-0.

Chad Castorina scored with less than two minutes remaining in the game as Washington Township rallied to tie Moorestown 1-1 in a late game played in Voorhees. After a scoreless first period in which neither team could generate much offense, Moorestown struck first midway through the second period as Elias Sulpizio connected for the Quakes for a 1-0 lead. Township had their opportunities especially on the power play but they failed to convert on all four chances. With the game winding down Castorina was able to get the equalizer with Harrison Rauh getting the assist.

Thomas Rockey had four goals as Clearview flew by St Joe’s 8-2 in Tier II action played at Hollydell. The View used a four goal first period to take control of the game and St Joe’s struggled on the power play going 1-9. Rockey scored the first two goals of the game as the View jumped out to a 2-0 lead. Chris Geary scored the first of his two goals on the night with three minutes left in the period and the lead was 3-0. Chase Dyar beat the buzzer to make it 4-0 with just one second left on the clock. Rockey competed his hat trick at the three minute mark and the lead was 5-0.

Jake Cahill stopped 36 shots to help Williamstown edge Kingsway 2-1 in Tier I action played at Hollydell. Enrique Espinosa scored the only goal of the first period as the Braves led 1-0. After a scoreless second period the Braves made it 2-0 on a goal by Tristan Hofstrom in the opening two minutes. Kingsway would take control, offensively, of the period as they launched 19 shots at Cahill. Jason Player finally got one by Cahill at the five minute mark to make it 2-1. Despite a power play opportunity at the eight minute mark, Cahill would shut down Kingsway and the Braves hung on.

Cherokee built a 4-0 lead early into the third period and had to hold off a hard charging Moorestown team as the Chiefs opened defense of their title with a 4-3 win over the Quakes in a rare Wednesday night contest at Voorhees. Sam Libetti led the Chiefs offense with two goals. Colin Devine and Jeremy Ambrose scored first period goals for Cherokee just over one minute apart as the Chiefs led 2-0 after one period. Libetti scored the only goal of the second period on a feed from Ambrose and the Chiefs took a 3-0 lead into the third period.

Anthony Santa Maria and Ralph Triboletti each scored four goals and Mainland jumped out to a 5-0 lead after one period on their way to a 9-1 win over Riverfront in action played at Voorhees. After Jack Hassett scored in the opening two minutes to give Mainland a 1-0 lead, Santa Maria scored twice in a ninety second span to push the lead to 3-0 five minutes into the game. Midway through the period Triboletti would score a short-handed goal and power play goal less than ninety seconds apart and Mainland led 5-0. Santa Maria scored the only goal of the second period as Mainland led 6-0.
