Robert DiDonato stopped 24 shots and five different players scored as Washington Township defeated Cherokee 5-1 in Tier I action played on Friday night at Hollydell. Township out-shot Cherokee 41-25 as they kept the pressure up all night in by far their best performance of the season. Goals by Kyle McGarvey and Mike Guarracino, both coming late in the first gave Township a 2-0 lead after one period. Andrew McGinley would make it 3-0 early in the second period. Cherokee would get a late goal from Darren Ambrose to get to within 3-1 after two periods.

Township would score a power play goal in the first two minutes of the third period as Andrew Matlack converted and the lead was 4-1. Twenty seven seconds later Harrison Rauh made it 5-1 scoring his sixth of the season. DiDonato would close the door on the Chiefs as he stopped all eleven shots of the period and Township improved to 3-7-1 on the season.
