Max Brzozowski stopped all 25 shots as Eastern defeated Cherokee 3-0 in late game action in Voorhees. With the win Eastern clinched the top spot in Tier I for the double elimination tournament. After a very entertaining and scoreless first period, in which Brzozowski stopped twelve shots, Eastern capitalized on the power play early in the second period as Kristian Massanova converted a pass from Ryan Karbach down low and a 1-0 lead. It would turn out to be the game winner, despite some good chances in the second and a power play opportunity Cherokee could not get one by Brzozowski.

Late in the game the Chiefs had an opportunity to tie the game with three minutes left going on another power play, but it was Eastern scoring two short-handed goals. First Sean Pomerantz and Kristopher Zapata worked the puck in the corner and Pomerantz tipped home a pass from Zapata to make it 2-0. Right off the center ice face-off Jordan Stein broke in and his shot found the net and a 3-0 lead. The Chiefs who started the power play with a chance to tie were now down three goals with one-minute left. Brzozowski was able to preserve the shutout and the Vikings celebrated their win.
