Egg Harbor Township trailed 4-0 midway through the second period and things looked bleak for the Eagles, but a furious rally gave them a 5-4 win in overtime against Washington Township at Hollydell on Friday night. The loss eliminated Township from the playoffs. EHT will now face Cherokee on Monday night with the winner facing Eastern in the Championship round. Township led 2-0 after the first period on goals by Harrison Rauh and Andrew McGinley. Goals by Mike Guarracino and Niko Durnan twenty-three seconds apart had the lead to 4-0 and seemingly safe for Township. Riley Rudolph started the comeback for EHT scoring at the eight minute mark, then with the period winding down, Ryan Robertson scored for EHT and now suddenly it was 4-2 heading into the third period.

With momentum clearly on their side EHT would carry the play offensively, totaling 19 shots for the period. Blake Grey would make it 4-3 at the six minute mark and less than two minutes later Jacob Feliciano would rip a shot from just over the blue line into the top corner and we were tied at 4-4. Both teams would have a chance with the man advantage late in the game and neither could capitalize. Township began the OT with about ninety seconds left on the advantage, but could not get the game winner. Blaze Tommi would break down the left side and his shot through a maze of players found the net and EHT lives on.
