Thomas Caputo scored three goals and Nicholas Fonseca added two as Shawnee handled Appoquinimink 7-3 in opening round action of the Flyers Cup held in Voorhees. Shane Hindt gave Appoquinimink a 1-0 lead in the opening two minutes of the game; Caputo would tie the score at 1-1 less than two minutes later. The second period was all Renegades as they seized control of the game launching 14 shots and scoring three goals. First on the power play, Michael Wolverton gave Shawnee a 2-1 lead at the seven-minute mark. Just over three minutes later Fonseca made it 3-1 on a feed from Dylan DiGrazio. Fonseca would get his second of the night in the closing seconds and Shawnee was in command heading into the third period at 4-1. 

Jonny Schwarz would make it 4-2 scoring a power play goal at the six-minute mark, but Caputo responded one minute later and the three-goal lead was restored at 5-2. David Hoftiezer gave the Renegades a 6-2 lead with another power play goal with less than seven minutes remaining in the third. At the eleven-minute mark, Appoquinimink would get a goal from Nathan Panchisin on the power play to make it 6-3. Caputo would finish off his hat trick from in front, as he converted a nice corner pass from Jamie Roggio to close out the scoring. Next up for Shawnee is a date with Salesianum.
