Three periods, two overtimes and 9 shoot-out chances could not yield a winner in the Washington Township-Moorestown game, until Frank Hughes ripped a shot into the net to give Township a thrilling 4-3 win over Moorestown and the right to meet Cherokee in the finals on Monday night. Before we get to how we finished let’s talk about how we started. Moorestown forward Mike Katz had all three Moorestown goals, scoring two in the first three minutes of the game. Down 2-0 Township got one back as they broke in 3-on-2 at the eight minute mark and Doug Sanders made a nice pass to Tyler Benton and his goal cut the lead to 2-1.
Nick Taylor had two goals and Ian Martin made 29 saves as Riverfront defeated Mainland 5-2 to win the Tier III Title. Winning wire to wire like they did Riverfront led the division all season and went undefeated in the tournament. Mainland took a 1-0 lead just two minutes into the game as Paddy McFadden scored his first of the playoffs. Riverfront responded thirty seconds later as Taylor tied the score. Taylor would score late in the period to give Riverfront a 2-1 lead after one.
Max Ramos stopped everything Black Horse threw at him as Clearview won 2-0 and advanced to the finals and will face H/L/V. A bitter rivalry has grown throughout the year and the league assigned two of the top officials for the game and they did a good job in keeping the game in check. Clearview would score the lone goal of the first period as Kody Basile put home a rebound of a shot by Matt Bishop. Ramos stoned Nick Kilcourse on a breakaway moments later to keep the score 1-0.

Doug Henkel stopped 32 shots and Sam Belanger scored two goals as H/L/V advanced to the Tier II finals with a 4-1 win over Clearview. Mike Cullen scored the only goal of the opening period as Clearview led 1-0. The second period was all H/L/V as they scored three goals, after Belanger tied the game at 1-1 at the five minute mark, Alex Mastrokyriakos gave H/L/V the lead for good just twelve seconds later to make it 2-1. Henkel would shut the door on the Clearview offense not allowing another goal in recording the win.

Shawnee goalie Gavin Hambrose saved his best performance for tonight as Township launched 44 shots on net.
