Tyler Richardson scored twice as Clearview defeated Black Horse 5-2 in a Tier 2 playoff game at Voorhees on Friday night. Moorestown, H/L/V and Riverfront all enter the double elimination Tournament as the top seeds, however it’s not where you start but how you finish. Let’s take a look at each Tier:
Cherokee had three power play goals and three short-handed goals in defeating Washington Township 8-2 in an opening round playoff game in Tier 1 at the Skate Zone in Voorhees. Township had a winning record in the regular season going 2-1-1 and had controlled the play in the first period in all 4 games, allowing just one goal in that span, tonight that was different. Needing a strong start, Township had an opportunity early in the game as they went on the power play, but Jake Toran scored on a breakaway to give Cherokee a 1-0 lead just three minutes into the game. Later in the period Casey Forte would score on a rebound to make it 2-0, this goal came on the power play.
