Austin Haslett and Jason Smith scored two goals each and Zack Burkhardt stopped 20 shots as Washington Township defeated the EEW 8-1 in action played at the Skate Zone in Voorhees. Haslett and Billy Wharton scored the only two goals of the first period, both coming about three minutes apart as Township led just 2-0 after one period. While out-shooting EEW 49-21, Burkhardt made several big stops with the game still in the balance, stoning Luke Hussey twice on breakaways. Getting the start due to an illness to McCusker, Burkhardt would lose his shutout midway through the third period as Hussey would net his tenth goal of the season.

Nick Kilcourse scored twice to lead Black Horse over Mainland 7-2 in a cross-over game played at Hollydell. Mainland plays in Tier III, while Black Horse is in Tier II. Brandon Mead opened the scoring for Black Horse scoring his second goal of the year. Mainland would tie the game at 1-1 as Carmine Morelli scored his fifth on the season. Kilcourse would give Black Horse the lead for good with one minute left in the period scoring unassisted.
Six different players scored goals for Moorestown as they defeated Washington Township 7-1 at Hollydell on Friday night. Moorestown has beaten Township in all 4 meetings out-scoring them 21-5. On the flip side Moorestown has lost both games to Cherokee while Township has beaten them twice and tied once, go figure.
Trailing 5-1 after the first period Washington Township came storming back to tie H/L/V 6-6 in action played at the Skate Zone in Voorhees on Monday night. Austin Haslett led Township with three goals; Patrick Rizzo led H/L/V with two goals. H/L/V scored five goals in the opening four minutes with two by Rizzo and one each by Matt Belanger Colin Riera and Nate Fowler had H/L/V leading 5-0. Riley Griffith scored a short-handed goal late in the period to cut the deficit to 5-1 after one.
Cherokee scored six goals in an eight minute span of the first period to jump out to a 6-1 lead and went on to defeat the EEW 8-3 in action played at the Skate Zone in Voorhees. John Martino led the attack with three goals and Brian Miller added two goals. Nick Stengel, Avery Harwan and Kevin Hall scored the goals for the EEW. Stengel opened the scoring just one minute into the game as the EEW had the early lead, and it would stay that way for about five minutes, then the Chiefs got rolling as Miller and Martino scored goals twenty four seconds apart to give Cherokee a 2-1 lead.
Clearview failed to capitalize on some golden opportunities against division leader Holy/Lenape/Valley and lost 3-1 in the first game of 2013 for both clubs. The teams traded goals in the opening four minutes of the game, Sam Belanger scoring for H/L/V and Ryan Lauk tallying for Clearview. Matt Cloud would score his team high 14th goal late in the period to give H/L/V a 2-1 lead after one period. Doug Henkel started his sixth game in nets for H/L/V and would turn out to be the difference.
Washington Township rallied from a 2-0 deficit and tied Cherokee 2-2 in the first game of the New Year for both teams. Township has played their best games against Cherokee this season having handed them both their losses, and this is the first game Cherokee has scored more than one goal against Ryan McCusker and company.
Coming off a team record in shots with 63 in their last game Clearview did not record 20 shots as they lost to Moorestown 5-0 at Hollydell on Friday night. It was the second straight loss to Moorestown in the last week, after Clearview had won four games in a row. Vada Mangum recorded his 3rd shutout of the season and William Sulpizio led Moorestown with two goals. After a scoreless first period, Sulpizio gave Moorestown the only goal they would need early in the second period with Chris DeRose and Liam Ridge getting the assists.
Doug Sanders and Austin Haslett each scored two goals as Washington Township defeated Shawnee 7-0 at Hollydell on Friday night. Haslett scored the lone goal of the opening period as he scored down low with just over one minute remaining. Midway through the second period the lead grew to 2-0 as Haslett notched his second of the night and sixth of the season. Zachary Burkhardt got the start in nets and stopped all 17 shots.
Clearview set a record with 63 shots on goal in defeating Middle Township 11-2. Ryan Lauk and Matt Bishop each had a hat trick for Clearview which trailed 1-0 after the first period on a goal by Garrett Brown. Clearview would score five goals in the second period and then blow the game open with a six goal third period. Also scoring for the View was Eric Lauk with two and Austin Kohler, Mason Gagne and Mike Vulpio with one each.
