Stephen San Martin stopped 33 shots and Cinnaminson used a four goal second period to break open the game as they defeated St Joe’s 7-1 in action played at the Skate Zone on Monday night. St Joe’s scored the only goal of the first period with Seth Zolda beating San Martin and that turned out to be the only goal San Martin would surrender. Andrew Fehr would tie the score at 1-1 just two minutes into the second period with Johnathon San Martin, playing in his first game with his brother in nets, got one of the assists. Three minutes later Jordan Evans would give Cinnaminson the lead for good, getting his first goal of the season.

Joseph Ricchezza scored the tying goal five minutes into the third period as Washington Township and Black Horse played to a 3-3 tie. The teams traded goals in the first period with Mario Leone scoring his first varsity goal of the season to put Township up, 1-0. Three minutes later Kyle Ringhesier would get his first of two on the night as he connected on the power play to knot the game at 1-1. Mark DiRenzo would see his shot find the net early in the second period as Township capitalized on the power play and took a 2-1 lead.

Williamstown scored the first two goals of the game and then HLV would score the next six and go on to defeat Williamstown 7-3 in Tier 1B action played in Voorhees. Goals by Jake Elliott and Joe Celia in the opening three minutes of the game put the Braves up 2-0. HLV would come roaring back scoring four goals in a seven minute span. Alec Warner would get the first of his two on the night at the seven minute mark to make it 2-1. Less than three minutes later Ryan Lasalvia would tie the game at 2-2 scoring unassisted.

Clearview scored three goals in the third period to pull away from Cinnaminson with a 4-0 victory in JVA game action played in Voorhees. Leading just 1-0 through two periods, on a power play goal by Hunter Tamburro, Clearview would net three goals in a four minute span late in the third period. The View out-shot Cinnaminson 42-13 and Pirate goalie Andrew Nogowski was outstanding in nets for Cinnaminson.

Gage Grist and Bryce Zelig each had a hat trick as Mainland defeated Eastern 9-3 in JVB action at the Skate Zone in Voorhees on Sunday night. Grist had a natural hat trick scoring his goals in the first period, starting with a power play goal in the first four minutes. Less than three minutes later Grist made it 2-0 scoring unassisted. Late in the period Grist completed his hat trick with Craig Steelman getting the assist. Zelig would get his first of the night early in the second period with Steelman and Grist assisting. Then with Grist in the penalty box, Mainland would get a short-handed goal from Brendan Blight for a 5-0 lead.

Sean Keevey scored with less than two minutes left in the game to snap a 2-2 game and Shawnee would add an empty net goal in the final seconds as they defeated Cherry Hill 4-2 in JVB action in Voorhees. Shawnee led 2-0 after the first period on goals by Kevin Slickmeyer and Anthony Poppalardo. Cherry Hill would bounce back in the second period with two goals of their own, first Thomas Papa would cut the deficit to 2-1 at the five minute mark and William Ciechon would tie the game at 2-2 late in the period.

“Weak legs command, strong legs obey.” Those are the words spoken by Gil Reyes, foremost conditioning coach of tennis athletes in the world. This concept can be applied to hockey. Weak legs, once they are tired, will command the body to stop competing. You won’t get to those pucks you need to get to. Your ability to compete is greatly diminished. With strong legs, you will be able to, in times of need, be able to find that extra gear to not only out skate your opponent to the puck but also be able to do things with them you might not have been able to before.

Donovan Haslet had three goals and two assists and Jared Wharton added two goals and two assists as Washington Township defeated arch rival Clearview 8-5 in Tier I action played at Voorhees. The offense for Township has struggled offensively over the last few years and to score eight in one game had to please Coach Glick. The line of Haslet, Wharton and Jared Mara were a force every shift, with Mara adding one goal and three assists. Anthony DelleRose led Clearview with a hat trick and Robert Penrod added two goals.

Cinnaminson got balanced scoring as seven different players scored goals in an easy 10-0 win over Riverfront. Jacob Gimbel led the attack with two goals and three assists, James Lowry added two goals and two assists and Alex Richardson added two goals. Steve Sanmartin stopped all 12 shots for the win as the Pirates improved their record to 2-1. The game was scoreless until the six minute mark when Gimbel connected for a 1-0 lead. Sixteen seconds later the lead was 2-0 as Andrew Fehr would score. Goals by Lowry on the power play at the nine minute mark and two late goals, one by Richardson and one by Mike Obrien nineteen seconds apart saw the lead grow to 5-0.

Brandon Eberly and John Santosuosso each scored two goals and Moorestown used a four goal second period to pull away from Black Horse 6-3 in Tier I action played at the Skate Zone in Voorhees. Dominic Romeo stopped 24 shots for the Quakes in goal. The teams traded goals in the opening period, with Scott Veneziale giving Black Horse a 1-0 lead just twenty four seconds into the game and Moorestown getting the equalizer from Kyle Ingles midway through the period. Moorestown took the lead for good scoring two goals twenty seconds apart in the first five minutes of the second period with Eberly making it 2-1 and Chris DeRose scoring right after the face-off for a 3-1 lead.
