David Cutler scored three goals and Kris Hastings, Mike Bello and Justin Bryan added two goals each as Cherry Hill East rolled past Williamstown 10-1 in Tier II action in Voorhees on Monday night. Four goals in each of the first two periods would blow open the game as Cherry Hill improved to 16-2 on the season. Cutler scored in the first three minutes of the game and it stayed 1-0 until later in the period. East would score three goals in fifty-five seconds to build a 4-0 lead after one period .Hastings and Bryan would score twenty seconds apart and Cutler would add his second of the night thirty-five seconds later.

Dominic Romeo stopped 18 shots and Moorestown special teams accounted for three goals as they defeated Washington Township 4-0 in Tier I action at the Skate Zone. After a scoreless first period, where Moorestown failed to capitalize on a two man advantage and Township failed on its two power play opportunities, Robert Wildish would score his fourth goal of the season late in the second period to put Moorestown up 1-0. Brandon Eberly would score a power play goal early in the third period to make it 2-0.

Eric Lauk scored with forty-eight seconds left in the game as Clearview tied Moorestown 3-3 in a rare Tuesday night game at Hollydell. Anthony Dellerose gave Clearview a 1-0 lead scoring a short-handed goal late in the first period. Alex Crowl would tie the game moments later for Moorestown scoring his seventh goal of the season. Midway through the second period Brett Seifried would score his second goal of the season to give Moorestown a 2-1 lead and three minutes later that lead was 3-1 as Robert Wildish would score his third of the year, and his second in as many games.

The SJHSHL will hold the Junior/Senior Showcase game on Wednesday February 3rd at 8:30 at the Skate Zone in Voorhees. There will be a live draft on Thursday January 28th at 7:00 on our web site announcing the selections. There will be 15 forwards, 6 defenseman and 3 goalies selected for each team. Also 3 alternates will be picked in case a selected player cannot make the game. Each team must have at least one player selected. Please come out on Wednesday night and support these players. Last year these two teams were known as EEW and most of the kids know each other and tonight on senior night they met for the second time with Eastern coming out on top 6-4. Michael Corkery led the Vikings with two goals, Kristopher Hastings scored twice for Cherry Hill. Last time these two teams met back in October, Cherry Hill rallied in the third period to score five goals and win 9-6. Eastern was determined this time to hold the lead in the third and that’s what they did. Dominic Fonte started the scoring just two minutes into the game and the Vikings led 1-0. Just over one minute later Hastings would score the first of his two on the night to tie the game at 1-1. Brian Stamm would score a power play goal with just under three minutes left in the period to give Cherry Hill a 2-1 lead.

Moorestown had three power play goals and one short-handed goal as they defeated Shawnee 4-2 in SJHSHL action at the Skate Zone in Voorhees. Both of Shawnee’s goals would also come on the power play. Shawnee jumped out to a 1-0 lead on a goal by Cody Charyk just two minutes into the game. Moorestown would take advantage of back to back Shawnee penalties and score two power play goals in a ninety second span. First Alex Crowl would tie the game at 1-1, scoring his sixth of the season and then David Shore would connect for his ninth of the year, tied for the team lead, and Moorestown led 2-1 after the first period.

Nicholas Pontoriero stopped 38 shots and five different players scored to give Riverfront a 5-2 win over Mainland. The win was the first of the year for Riverfront and three goals in the third period would provide the spark along with the performance of Pontoriero. Patrick Willever scored a power play goal at the five minute mark to give Riverfront a 1-0 lead. Two minutes later Daniel Taylor would score his second of the season and a 2-0 lead. Mainland would get on the board late in the period as Gajge Hopkins scored his first goal of the season to make it 2-1 after one period.

Alec Warner had three goals as HLV defeated Middle Township 5-1 in Tier II action played in Voorhees on Monday night. HLV jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the opening five minutes of the game on goals by Warner and Ryan Lasalvia fifteen seconds apart. Kenny Weightman would score his 23rd of the season for Middle Township at the eight minute mark to make it 2-1.

Nick Frangos scored four goals, including the tying goal with seven minutes left in the game as St Joe’s rallied from a 3-0 deficit to tie Washington Township 5-5 in action played at Hollydell. Joe Crincoli gave Township a 1-0 lead as he put home a rebound of a shot by Joe Ricchezza for the only goal of the first period. Jeff Horner made it 2-0 early in the second period and just about one minute later Alex Marcucci gave Township a 3-0 scoring his fourth of the year with Eric Sailor and Ricchezza getting the assists.

Dom Salerno had a hat trick and Mike Moss added two goals and two assists as Kingsway defeated Williamstown 6-2 on senior night at Hollydell. Clearly the two best players on the ice tonight, both created numerous scoring opportunities when they were on the ice. Moss opened the scoring just three minutes into the game. Then with Williamstown on the power play with a chance to tie the game, Salerno jumped on a loose puck and scored short-handed with five minutes left in the period and a 2-0 advantage.
