The Quakes received goals from five different players on their way to a 5-0 win over Riverfront in SJHSHL action played in Voorhees. Dominic Romeo stopped all 20 shots in recording his first shutout of the season. David Shore scored the only goal of the opening period, his fourth of the season to put Moorestown up 1-0 after one. Brian Santosuosso scored a power play goal at the six minute mark of the second period picking up a loose puck in the slot. Riverfront had a chance to close the gap late in the period with the man advantage, but John Santosuosso scored a shorthanded goal to give the Quakes a 3-0 lead after two periods.

Joe Arlotta and Tim Jo scored two goals each as the Eastern Vikings had little trouble in defeating Kingsway 8-1 in a battle of the top two B teams in Tier I. Arlotta opened the scoring at the nine minute mark and Jo would add his first of the night just over two minutes later and the Vikings had a 2-0 lead through one period. Eastern began the second period with the man advantage and Maxim Kuznetsov would connect for his 13th of the season and the lead was 3-0. Ryan Candia would score the lone Kingsway goal about three minutes later to cut the deficit to 3-1. But goals by Jo and Rory O’Hara ninety seconds apart had the lead to 5-1 after two.

Nate Smith scored three goals, for the second time in the last three games, as Clearview defeated Washington Township 5-4 in JVA action played in Voorhees on Sunday evening. Smith scored 3 goals against Township the last time the two teams met on November 29th. Jake Sholders gave Clearview a 1-0 lead just two minutes into the game. Smith added his first of the night at the twelve minute mark and the View led 2-0 after one period. Smith connected for his second goal of the night just twenty nine seconds into the second period and the lead was 3-0. Township would respond scoring two goals in a span of two minutes. First Joe Urban scored at the one minute mark to make it 3-1. Then on the power play, Frank Borgesi would get the first of two on the night to cut the lead to 3-2.

Jeffrey Leap scored two goals as Black Horse defeated Moorestown 3-1 in JVA action at the Skate Zone in Voorhees on Sunday night. After a scoreless first period, Black Horse broke out on top midway through the second period with Matthew Marchese getting his third goal of the year and a 1-0 lead. Just over two minutes later Leap made it 2-0 with Zachary Covely getting the assist. Early in the third period Leap scored his second of the night and Black Horse led 3-0.Ryan Coughlin would score a power play goal at the seven minute mark but Moorestown could get no closer. Black Horse improved to 4-3-2 on the season.

Kenny Weightman scored with four seconds left in the game to snap a 3-3 tie and give Middle Township a thrilling 4-3 victory over Lower Cape May. The win was the second in the last three games for the Panthers. Weightman accounted for all the goals for Middle Township and now has 21 on the season to lead his club. Middle Township scored the first two goals of the game with Weightman making it 1-0 at the four minute mark and ninety seconds later he made it 2-0 with Jake Simone getting the assist. Ryan Hill got Lower Cape on the scoreboard at the six minute mark and we headed into the second period with the Panthers up 2-1.

To say Clearview has struggled in their first ten games would be an understatement, having won just one game and overall standing at 1-6-3. Well on Friday night they played Cherokee and saw the return of the Lauk brothers, Eric and Ryan along with the return of team captain Anthony Dellerose from an arm injury. Eric Lauk would score a hat trick and Dellerose would assist on all three goals, Ryan would assist on one goal and play a strong game on defense in front of goalie Ross Higgins. Their opponent was Cherokee with Matt Bidini in nets sporting a 5-0-0 record and giving up just one goal per game. The game was scoreless until the final minute of the period when Andrew Sphuler threaded a long pass to Anthony Manzo and he broke in and beat Bidini for a 1-0 lead.

Kingsway scored six goals in the second period to break open a 1-0 game and went on to a 10-0 win over Williamstown. Leading just 1-0 after one period on a breakaway goal by Matt Kudless, Salerno got things going in the first minute of the second period, his first of three on the night, and in a span of ten minutes Kingsway saw its lead go to 7-0. Mike Moss would score two goals in a three minute span and the lead was 4-0. Matt Smith scored a power play goal at the six minute mark to make it 5-0. Goals by Smith and Vincenzo Salerno less than thirty seconds apart had the lead to 7-0 after two periods. Two by Salerno and one by Ryan Candia ended the game.

Maxim Kuznetsov and Braden Hawcroft scored two goals each as the Eastern Vikings defeated Middle Township 6-4 in SJHSHL action played at the Skate Zone in Voorhees. The Vikings built a three goal lead and had to hang on in the game’s final minute. Charles DeMarco led Middle Township with two goals. Kuznetsov scored the only goal of the opening period in the final minutes to put Eastern up 1-0.Early in the second period Hawcroft made it 2-0 with Kuznetsov getting the assist.

Mario Leone scored two goals and AJ Colela stopped 26 shots as Washington Township defeated Moorestown 5-2 and moved back into first place, one point ahead of Cherokee. Jared Mara gave Township a 1-0 lead after one period scoring his team high 14th of the season. Goals by Leone and Jeffrey Horner thirty-nine second apart at the eight minute mark of the second period put Township up 3-0. Twenty eight seconds later Moorestown had an opportunity to close the gap on the power play, but Jarrett Wharton scored a short-handed goal to put Township up 4-0 heading into the final period.

Michael O’Brien scored twice and Stephen San Martin stopped 28 shots as Cinnaminson defeated Clearview 5-2 in SJHSHL game action in Voorhees. Nicholas Ramos scored both Clearview goals. Cinnaminson would score the only goal in the first period as Dawson Nehring would connect on his fifth of the season early in the period. Ramos would tie the score at 1-1 scoring an unassisted goal in the opening minute of the second period, after San Martin had stopped him on a breakaway; he put home his own rebound.
