SJIceHockey.com Player Profile

In a continuing effort to help promote high school ice hockey in particular the SJHSIHL, we at SJIceHockey.com are adding a player profile section on our website. Our goal is to profile at least two players every two weeks which are selected by their coaches. Hopefully, this idea will be well received by the league. Our first player is Brian Ruskowski who is a senior and a forward for the surging Shawnee Renegades.

Brian is a four year varsity player and is having his best season yet. With the success the entire team is enjoying, Brian has posted career highs in goals scored with 11 and has 26 points with 5 games remaining in the regular season. His best game so far has to be the second time the Renegades faced the Moorestown Quakers this year. During that game, Moorestown had rallied during the early moments of the third period to take a one goal lead. Brian would score the game tying goal a minute and a half later. The game would remain tied over the next six minutes, that was until Brian’s second goal of the game put Shawnee ahead for good. Brian would score three goals in this game helping Shawnee rebound from their first loss of the year and pick up their twelfth win of the season.

Brian’s career plans is to major in business and sports management and hopes to land a job in that field in five years. He enjoys teaching his middle school players how to skate and how to play ice hockey and admires his dad, Bill Sr. the most. If he ad to make one rule change, it would be with his traveling team and that rule would be to allow touch up off sides.

We at SJIceHockey.com would like to thank the league, coaches and players for participating in our player profile feature.
