We are pleased with the league allowing us to recognize several players and a coach and their outstanding contributions they have made for their team. With at least two to three players considered for each category, we have finalized our decision. The tradition continues here at SJIceHockey as we honor the best of 2019-2020 season in the SJHSHL. The awards will be presented prior to Game 1 of the Championship round for Tier I this Friday, February 28 at Hollydell Ice Arena. Listed below are this year’s recipients:

The loss eliminated EHT and moved the Chiefs into the Championship round against Eastern. Patrick Dugan put the Chiefs on the board at the eight-minute mark on a nice feed from Colin Devine from behind the net. Jack Ellis, the Chiefs leading goal scorer during the regular season, returned to game action after missing a few games due to injury and made an impact as he scored on the power play to put the Chiefs up 2-0 late in the first period. Early in the second period, Devine would make it 3-0 as the Chiefs once again capitalized on the power play. Late in the period on a scramble, in front, Anthony Breen scored for Cherokee and the Chiefs led 4-0 after two periods.
Kristopher Zapata scored with 51 seconds left in the third period as Eastern defeated Cherokee 4-3 in Tier I playoff action in Voorhees. Ryan Connor scored all three Cherokee goals. Eastern now moves into the Championship round, next Friday February 28th. Connor gave the Chiefs an early 1-0 lead scoring just over one minute into the game.
