Jeremy Ambrose scored four goals and Jake Frankenfield added three as Cherokee defeated Egg Harbor Township 8-2 in Flyers Cup action played at the Skate Zone in Voorhees. Sam Libetti assisted on five of the eight goals. It took about eleven minutes for the Chiefs offense to get going, but Ambrose and Libetti would combine on the first goal late in the period. Continuing on the same shift Libetti would once again set-up Ambrose and Cherokee took a 2-0 lead into the second period. Early in the period with the Chiefs on the power play, Frankenfield would go end-to-end and circle around the net and fire a shot that found the long side and a 3-0 lead.

Egg Harbor Township has waited a long time to participate in the Flyers Cup and they made the most of their first time as they defeated Shawnee 6-4 in action played at the Voorhees Skate Zone. William Bahnak led the offense with two goals. Shawnee led 3-1 after the first period on goals by Dave Hoftiezer, Anthony Poppalardo and Babik. EHT would get a power play goal from Ryan Robertson. The second period was all EHT as they would score three goals in a two minute span to take the lead. Blaze Tommi would get them to within 3-2 at the seven minute mark and thirty seconds later Dylan Faulhaber would tie the game at 3-3.
Egg Harbor Township scored three goals in the first eight minutes of the third period to pull away from Kingsway 4-1 and capture the Tier I B championship. The teams were tied at 1-1 after the first period with Jason Player scoring a power play goal to give Kingsway a 1-0 lead but William Bahnak tied the game five minutes later for EHT. After a scoreless second period, Blaze Tommi would score a power play goal five minutes into the third and a 2-1 lead.
Coming into tonight’s game against Kingsway, Egg Harbor Township had its back up against the wall as they were facing elimination having already suffered one loss, but they gutted out a 3-1 win. Now the Championship will be decided next Monday night. Jacob Feliciano scored the only goal of the first period to give EHT a 1-0 lead. Kingsway would tie the game at 1-1 late in the second period as Nicky Bellapigna scored on the power play.
We are pleased with the league allowing us to recognize several players and a coach and their outstanding contributions they have made for their team. With at least two to three players considered for each category, we have finalized our decision. The tradition continues here at SJIceHockey as we honor the best of 2018-2019 season in the SJHSHL. Egg Harbor Township scored three goals in the second period and hung on for a 4-3 victory over Shawnee, the win advances EHT into the Tier 1 B finals against Kingsway. The teams traded goals in the first period, Tyler Murray gave Shawnee a 1-0 lead three minutes into the game, but EHT would getting the tying goal from Zachary Feliciano on the power play with just over three minutes left in the period. Early in the second period Riley Rudolph would give EHT the lead for good and just under one minute later William Bahnak would make it 3-1 for the Eagles.
Egg Harbor Township built a 5-0 lead through two periods and held off a charging Williamstown team and defeated the Braves 6-3 in late game action at Hollydell. The loss ended the season for Williamstown. Blaze Tommi led EHT with two goals. EHT took control with a three goal first period with Tommi scoring just thirty six seconds into the game. Four minutes later EHT would capitalize on the power play as Zachary Feliciano scored and the lead was 2-0. Just over two minutes later Tommi made it 3-0 as EHT was clicking offensively, launching 12 shots in the period and back-checking and limited the Braves to just four shots.
Jake Frankenfield scored eighteen seconds into overtime to give Team Simmonds a 5-4 win over Team Giroux in the Junior-Senior showcase game played at the Skate Zone in Voorhees last night. Frankenfield had two goals on the night and won the game’s MVP, donated and presented by Training Aspects Ki Vaks and Rob Jost. Team Giroux took a 2-0n lead on goals by Austin Wilk and Sam Libetti. Team Simmonds would respond with goals from Ryan Feist late in the first period and seconds later a tying goal by Anthony Poppalardo. Team Simmonds would take a 3-2 lead as Mike Liberty from Mainland would score in the second period.
The draft was held last night for the Junior-Senior Showcase game which will be held this Sunday night at the SkateZone in Voorhees at 7:25. Coach McKay from Cherokee won the right to pick first and he choose Jeremy Ambrose. Coach Glick selected Sam Libetti; it was the first time that two players from the same team, Cherokee were picked first by each team. Listed below in order are the teams, Team Simmonds is Coach McKay and Team Giroux is Coach Glick:
Chad Castorina scored three goals and Andrew McGinley added two as Washington Township defeated Egg Harbor Township 6-1 in late game action played at Hollydell. Castorina scored the only goal of the first period on a feed from McGinley as they broke in 2-on-1. Early in the second period Castorina scored down low to make it 2-0. EHT would put some pressure offensively but Township goalie Matt Lynch would keep EHT off the board, for the game Lynch stopped 33 shots.
