I watched a coach have his team gather around a television that had been rolled into the gym. I was thinking, they're about to watch some game film, boy was I wrong! This coach pulls out the "Insanity" DVD. The issue, as I see is it is this, the head coach will let their team know how important any aspect of their program is by how much attention they give to it. Case in point, when a coach is going over an offense or defense, do you honestly believe they would pop in a DVD to show the team? I don't believe so, that coach would be teaching, interacting with their team. They would be encouraging cajoling doing things that coaches do.

Matt Cloud had three goals and Brian Miller added two as Team Briere defeated team Giroux 11-2 last night at Hollydell. The game was close after two periods but Team Briere blew the game open with six goals in the third period. Brandon Mead scored twice for Team Giroux. This year the league supplied jerseys and socks to each player. And Joe Walters supplied both teams with hoodies as well.

Max Ramos stopped 23 shots and goals by Eric Lauk and Matt Bishop were just enough as Clearview defeated H/L/V 2-1 to win the Tier II championship at Hollydell. After a scoreless first period Lauk, recently named Breakout Player of the Year, deflected a cross-ice pass from Norman Angel to give the View a 1-0 lead just two minutes into the second period. Bishop made it 2-0 at the nine minute mark as his shot along the ice, through a maze of players, found the net, John Garbarino getting the assist.

Eric Lauk had two goals and one assists as Clearview avoided elimination and defeated H/L/V 4-2 in Tier 2 playoff action at the Skate Zone in Voorhees. The two teams will meet again on Wednesday night at Hollydell to decide the champion. H/L/V took a 1-0 lead just ninety seconds into the game as Karl Houwen scored his first goal of the playoffs. Clearview tied the score at 1-1 scoring their first of three power play goals as Lauk put home a shot by Matt Bishop. Two minutes later Bishop would score on the power play with Lauk getting the helper and Clearview led 2-1 after one period.

Doug Henkel stopped 32 shots and Sam Belanger scored two goals as H/L/V advanced to the Tier II finals with a 4-1 win over Clearview. Mike Cullen scored the only goal of the opening period as Clearview led 1-0. The second period was all H/L/V as they scored three goals, after Belanger tied the game at 1-1 at the five minute mark, Alex Mastrokyriakos gave H/L/V the lead for good just twelve seconds later to make it 2-1. Henkel would shut the door on the Clearview offense not allowing another goal in recording the win.

Five different players scored for H/L/V as they defeated the EEW 5-1 in playoff action at Voorhees on Monday night. Doug Henkel stopped 15 shots in getting the win. H/L/V got things started early as Alex Mastrokyriakos scored just two minutes into the game. Matt Cloud made it 2-0 just about two minutes later scoring a power play goal. Sam Belanger made it 3-0 with assists going to Brian Clegg and Pat Rizzo.
