Sean Conard scored four goals as Riverfront had little trouble in defeating Kingsway 11-0 last night at Voorhees. As we begin 2015 and head towards the playoffs let’s take a look at the division leaders and where they should finish: American Division: Washington Township has a 3 point lead with two games in hand and has winnable games against Shawnee, EEW and HLV. They would seem to be in the driver’s seat for the top seed in the division. Cherokee is still the 4 time champ and needs to get there offense going if they want a 5th title. Clearview has proved they can play with anybody and could surprise here depending on the goaltending. Moorestown has struggled within the division going 1-6-1.
Kingsway battled Middle Township all night long, led by five goals by Mike Moss, three short-handed, as the teams played to an 8-8 final. Anthony TJ Albano led Middle Township with a hat trick and Thom De Marco added two goals. Moss opened the scoring with a short-handed goal four minutes in. Albano would tie the game seconds later on the same power play. Charlie De Marco gave Middle Township a 2-1 lead late in the period. Early in the second period Marc Conte would notch his second goal of the year to give Middle Township a 3-1 advantage. Moss however would get his second shorthanded goal of the evening, this time his team was down two men and Kingsway got to within 3-2.
Trevor Rucci scored five goals and added three assists as St Joe’s had little trouble in defeating Kingsway 10-2 at Hollydell in late game action in the Olympic division. St Joe’s improved to 10-1 on the season. Rucci and Alex Eberly scored goals twenty four seconds apart in the opening three minutes to jump out to a 2-0 lead. Smith gave Kingsway a 2-1 lead late in the period and that lead grew to 4-1 on goals by Donovan Shannon and Anthony Alestra midway through the second period. And when Hunter Kramer scored at the eleven minute mark for a 5-1 lead, Kingsway seemed to be in control.
