Dalton Bew scored two goals and added two assists and Mark Vandenberg stopped all 13 shots as Mainland defeated Lower Cape May 4-0 to capture the Tier III championship. Mainland dominated the first period firing 20 shots but could only manage one goal as Cape May goalie Brandon Adams was excellent in nets. Bew scored the lone goal late in the period and Mainland led 1-0. Bew set-up Jesse Solanik midway through the period and the lead grew to 2-0.
In just his third game of the season, James Privito scored five goals as Cherry Hill West shutout Lower Cape May 8-0. Andy Home stopped all 30 shots he faced in recording his first shut-out of the season. West has won two in a row and Privito has scored a combined 11 goals in both wins. Privito could be returning at the right time as he led Black Horse to the Tier III Title last year.
Matthew Scheeper had his first hat trick of the season as Vineland doubled up Lower Cape May 6-3 in Tier III action. Lower Cape May took a 1-0 lead as Aaron Saylor scored his first goal of the season. That lead lasted until the final thirty-six seconds of the period when Scheeper scored a power play goal. Right after the center ice face-off, Scheeper scored again to give Vineland a 2-1 lead. The goals came seven seconds apart, an unofficial record for Vineland.
