SJIceHockey.com Annual Award Winners 2014


Once again SJIceHockey.com is pleased to announce our annual award recipients. This year there seemed to be more balance throughout the league and with the playoffs upon us we could be in for a few surprises. Listed below are the 2013-2014 winners:

Tier I Player of the Year: Brian Miller, Cherokee -Brian lead the league in scoring with 55 points and tied for the league lead in goals with 23 and also chipped in with 8 short-handed goals in leading his team to a 14-3-1 record.


Tier II Player of the Year: Alex Mastrokyriakos, HLV - Alex led his team in scoring and total points with 19 goals and 17 assists in finishing second in the league in scoring.


Best Defenseman: Tyler Tavormina, Moorestown - Tyler had a strong senior season in anchoring the defense for the Quakes in leading them to a first place finish.


Breakout Player of the Year: Scott Veneziale, Black Horse - Scott led the league in scoring and game winning goals and finished second in goals with 23 while helping Black Horse to first place and a 14-3-2 record.


Tier III Player of the Year: Dominik Newman & Ryan McMahon - We selected two players this year, both goalies from undefeated Mainland. Dominik was 8-0-2 with a 1.66 GAA and Ryan was 6-0-1 with a 1.55 GAA this season and both were an important part of Mainland finishing 14-0-3.


JVA Player of the Year: Alex Principato, Cherokee - Alex, a pure JVA player was 5th in the league in scoring and was a key player in helping Cherokee finish at 11-1-1 and first place in JVA.


JVB Player of the Year: Matthew Concowich, Riverfront - As a pure JVB player, Matthew had an 8-1 record with a GAA of 1.63 in leading Riverfront to first place in the division.


Coach of the Year: Anthony Bozelli, Black Horse - Coach Bozelli in his first season led Black Horse to a 14-3-2 and first place in Tier II.


Leadership Award: Tyler Richardson, Clearview - Tyler has been a stalwart on defense for Clearview and has chipped in with n20 points in eighteen games.
