Each year, we are pleased with the league allowing us to recognize several players and a coach and their outstanding contributions they have made for their team. With at least two to three players considered for each category, we have finalized our decision. In the continuing tradition here at SJIcehockey we are pleased to announce the 2014-2015 award winners:
American Division Player of the Year - Boomer Miller, Cherokee Chiefs. Boomer is tops in goals with 25 and points with 40, in the division and is poised to lead the Chiefs on their quest for 5 in a row.
National Division Player of the Year - Mackenzie Restle, Mainland. Mackenzie led his team in goals with 23 and points with 38 and has helped Mainland to a 13-2-2 record this season.
Olympic Player of the Year - Jake Lukis, Riverfront. Jake leads his team in points and assists while helping Riverfront to a 14-1-1 year.
Breakout Player of the Year - Trevor Rucci, St Joe’s. Coming off last year with 8 goals and nine assists, Trevor has enjoyed a season with a league high 36 goals and led his division in scoring with 57 points.
Leadership Award - Chris Cozzan, Washington Township. Chris led his team in goals and assists while playing both offense and defense in leading Township to first place in the division.
JVA Player of the Year - Kris Burke, Washington Township. Kris has posted a 7-1-1 record for the first place Minutemen with a 3.24 GAA.
JVB Player of the Year - Alexander Testa, Moorestown. Alex has posted a 12-1-1- record while leading Moorestown to a first place finish and a league leading GAA of 2.34.
Coach of the Year - Scott Boyd, Shawnee. After a season with just 2 wins, this year Shawnee has come back to win 7 games under Scott and improved defensively allowing three less goals per game.
Congratulations to all, the following presentation were awards given out by the league.
American Division Glen Holland Award- Zachary Burkhardt, Washington Twp. This player had a career best 1.50 Goals against average and finished 10-3-2 on the season while leading his team to a first place finish.
National Division Glen Holland Award- Ryan McMahon, Mainland. This player was undefeated during the regular season going 11-0-2 with 3 shutouts and a 1.89 Goals against average while leading his team to a first place finish.
Olympic Division Glen Holland Award- Aiden Rogers, St. Joes. This player was 12-2 on the season with a league leading goals against average of 2.36, including 3 shutouts.
Jeffery Burd Award- Daniel First, EEW. We would like to honor Jeffery Burd by presenting this award to Daniel who is also compassionate, discipline, dependable, and smart.
