Louie DeAngelo scored four goals and Brandon Cusumano stopped 25 shots as Washington Township had little trouble with Williamstown in a 9-1 victory. Eddie Sarin chipped in with two goals and three assists, Rich Busch scored the lone Williamstown goal. Scoring five goals in the first period helped the Minutemen, with DeAngelo scoring twice, Sarin, Ryan Marker and right before the buzzer sounded Ryan Carr. Williamstown had had better second period offensively as they generated 14 shots, but Cusumano, who’s best save came on a short-handed breakaway by Kyle Parks, but Cusumano stoned him, and DeAngelo completed his hat trick and the period ended with Township in control at 6-1.

Township would score three goals in the last five minutes to complete the 9-1 win, with Sarin, Eric Naccarelli and DeAngelo getting the goals. The win was the seventh in a row for the Minutemen and kept them in first place, with Moorestown right on their heels.

Notes: With Township splitting the goaltending duties between Cusumano, a sophomore and senior Mike Stoever, will that system continue throughout the playoffs?? Or will one guy get hot?? Looking ahead at the schedule, the Minutemen have no games left against Moorestown or Cinnaminson (what genius made that schedule?) Cusumano did not face Moorestown in either game, with the teams splitting the series. Stoever did not face Cinnaminson, as Township swept both games. Should be a tough decision.
