When it comes time for Flyers Cup selection, the committee after reviewing the nominated teams will look at cross-over games and playing non-league games is always looked on favorably. So Township president Ed Sarin scheduled an exhibition game against Pennsbury during the practice time allotted to Township at Hollydell on Wednesday. Township won 8-4 as both Eddie Sarin and Jonathan Smith had a hat trick for Township.
The game was tied 1-1 after the first period, but Township scored seven goals in the second period to break open the game and lead 8-1 heading into the final period. Pennsbury came into the game with a 2-2-1 record and would score three goals in the third period but on this night Township’s offense was clicking on all cylinders and they will need that kind of performance to be successful against teams like Cherokee and Moorestown.
