Deaglan Kelly and Frederick Balderman each scored two goals as St Joe’s defeated Riverfront 9-3 in Tier II action at the Skate Zone in Voorhees. St. Joe’s led 1-0 on a goal by Corey Price three minutes into the game. We stayed that way until the ten minute mark and St Joe’s would get goals from Balderman and Tyler Eahart ninety seconds apart and the lead was 3-0. Brennen McCarty would put Riverfront on the board seconds later to cut the lead to 3-1. Cooper Root would counter less than one minute later and St. Joe’s would take a 4-1 lead into the second period.
Brayden McFadden scored in the early portion of the second period to bring Riverfront to within 4-2, but two goals by Kelly late in the period pushed the lead to 6-2 entering the third period. Riverfront had a chance to close the gap early in the third period but Robert Davis would score short-handed and the lead was 7-2. Carter Wyatt would connect at the six minute mark for St. Joe’s for an 8-2 lead. Riverfront would score on the power play as Colin Sabatino scored with just under six minutes remaining. Balderman would close out the scoring with St Joe’s second short-handed goal in the final minute.
