Township and Cherokee fit to be tied

Washington Township opened their season playing against defending champion Cherokee and the teams played to a 2-2 stand-off. Township jumped out to a 2-0 first period lead, scoring both goals in the final three minutes, one by Chris Cozzan and the other short-handed by Jim Pollock, despite giving Cherokee four power play opportunities. Strong play by Zachary Burkhardt helps keep the Chiefs off the board.
