James Popp scored two goals to lead Cinnaminson to a 5-3 victory over Middle Township in a game played in Voorhees on Monday evening. The teams traded goals in the first period, with Tom DeMarco giving Middle Township a 1-0 lead three minutes into the game and Popp tying the game at 1-1 just over three minutes later. Kenny Weightman would put Middle Township up 2-1 just about one minute later, but Danny Oconnor notched his fifth goal of the year and we were knotted at 2-2 after one.

Danny Oconnor had a hat trick and Duke Madara scored twice as Cinnaminson defeated Lower Cape May 7-1. The Pirates scored five goals in the second period to blow open a close 2-1 game. Oconnor scored the first two goals of the game in the opening period to put the Pirates up 2-0, Lower Cape May scored their only goal late in the period when Robert McVey notched his sixth of the season.

Nick Frangos had three goals and one assist as St Joe’s defeated Cinnaminson 5-1 in action played at Voorhees on Monday night. Frangos struggled early in the season scoring just 5 goals in the first seven games. But over the last three games he has 9 goals. Not surprising St Joe’s was 3-3-1 in those games and has now won 3 in a row.

What ever happened to that line?? “With all due respect”? Or, more simply put, whatever happened to respect? Having covered this league for 15 years now, you hear a lot of talk back and forth. Mostly it is just that, talk, chatter, harmless banter just shy of being aggressive or outright rude. Sometimes, though, it seems players lose sight of the fact that the referees are there for a reason. They are part of the game. Are they always right? No. Will they change their mind if you argue and curse at them about the call? Heck no. I have never seen a ref change his call after a player argues his case over a penalty that he believed he did not commit.

Sean Bowman scored his first two goals of the season as Mainland coasted to a 6-1 victory over Cinnaminson and improved its record to 4-0-2 in the Olympic Conference. With the game played at Hollydell on Friday night in front of a sparse crowd, neither team would score in the first period.

St Joe’s would launch 47 shots at Cinnaminson goalie Chris Peters and managed just three goals but it was enough to defeat Cinnaminson 3-2 in a game played in Voorhees on Monday night. Daniel MacDuff and Anthony Lovell gave St Joe’s a 2-0 lead in the first period. Cinnaminson would get one back late in the period as Eric Bell scored his team high sixth goal to cut the lead to 2-1.
