Trailing by two goals, short-handed and with forty five seconds left in the game, Moorestown managed to score twice, the last goal with just one second left in the game as they rallied to tie Clearview 4-4. Dominating for most of the game, Clearview out-shot Moorestown 35-12 and was seemingly on their way to the third win in a row. The game was even after the first period as Moorestown took a 1-0 lead on a power play goal by Brett Seifried. Clearview came right back one minute later as Nick Ramos notched his third goal of the season. The second period was all Clearview, as Moorestown managed just one shot on goal and the View would strike twice.

Clearview scored four goals in the first seven minutes of the third period to break open the game against Black Horse and win going away at 6-2. The View out-shot Black Horse 36-9, and despite being held scoreless in the first period, started off the second period early as Matt Manzo scored in the opening minutes to put the View up 1-0. And at the nine minute mark Clearview took advantage on the power play as Kyle McGovern scored his second goal of the season to give the View a 2-0 lead heading into the third period.

Balanced scoring is a key against top teams and tonight Clearview had six different player score goals as they handed Cherokee their first loss of the season 6-3. Clearview jumped out early, as Robert Penrod scored a goal in the opening minute. Kyle McGovern made it 2-0 about three minutes later and when Anthony Dellerose scored for a 3-0 lead just seven minutes into the game, things looked good for the View. But back came the Chiefs as John Butkus and Boomer Miller would get Cherokee to within 3-2 after one period.

Dmitri Cirillo scored with just under one minute left in the game as Cherokee rallied to tie Clearview 4-4 in American Conference action at the Skate Zone on Monday evening. Missing top scorer Boomer Miller, Cherokee saw itself trailing 2-0 late in the first period. Clearview’s Nick Ramos scored the first of his two goals on the night at the five minute mark for a 1-0 lead. Then Anthony Dellerose netted his first goal of the year with just under four minutes left in the period and a 2-0 lead.

Justin Bryan had three goals and assisted on two others as EEW handled Clearview III 7-1 in cross-over action played at Hollydell. Leading just 1-0 after one period on Bryan’s second goal of the season, EEW would score three times in the second period to take control of the game. Right off the opening face-off Jordan Hoeft made it 2-0 with Bryan setting up the goal with a nice pass down low. Less than two minutes later the lead was 3-0 as Bryan scored again with Hoeft and Sam Amon getting the helpers.

Scott Thomas had three goals Shane Wicker and Jake Sholders added two goals each as Clearview defeated Egg Harbor Township 9-2 in Tier III action in Voorhees on Monday night. Clearview would jump out to a 5-0 lead after one period and never looked back. Thomas would score with just under two minutes played and add his second three minutes later for a 2-0 lead. Wicker made it 3-0 seconds later and goals by Sholders and Joey Freda had the View in control at 5-0 after one period.

Jon Yedman had two goals and one assist to pace Moorestown over Clearview 5-2 in action at the Skate Zone on Monday night. Yedman and Eric Jacobs scored goals one minute apart midway through the opening period to give the Quakes a 2-0 lead. Moorestown took some steam out of the View as they killed off a two man advantage for a full two minutes in the game’s opening minutes. Yedman scored the lone goal of the second period on the power play as Moorestown led 3-0 after two.

Cherokee opened defense of their SJHSHL title by defeating Clearview 4-1 in the season opener for both teams at the Skate Zone in Voorhees. Clearview is moving back into Tier 1 after several successful seasons in Tier II. Boomer Miller led the Chiefs with two goals and Tim Papagno stopped 16 shots. Miller opened the scoring with just under three minutes played to give the Chiefs a 1-0 lead. This should be a big year for Boomer, with his older brother now graduated; he will be counted on for much of the offense if Cherokee wants to win their fifth consecutive title.
